Skiing holidays in the Jura at Métabief
Less than 10km from the Swiss border, the village of Métabief is situated at the foot of the summit of Le Morond (1,420m). With an exceptional view of the Alps range, in the heart of the Jura mountains, the skiable area offers 40km of pistes and a snowpark. Métabief is a reference among cross-country skiing pistes with an immense Nordic skiing area connected to the Grande Traversée du Jura. There are also marked paths for walkers and snowshoers! At 1,000m of altitude, the VTF holiday village of "Le Bief Rouge", named after the stream, is situated in the centre of the village of Métabief and around 300m from the pistes.

VTF services with participation

Service Plus, the VTF snowshoeing label :
- list of routes (various lengths and difficulties): marked and adapted for snowshoeing. IGN card, guided hikes, map of routes listed available at reception,
- equipment hire on site (while stocks last): snowshoes and boots, hiking sticks, or agreements with renters at the resort at discounted rates, strage room on site,
- equipment hire: rucksack, compass and binoculars (while stocks last),
- guides: a list of guides is available at reception along with the rates
VTF welcomes children of 3 months to -6 years old all the season long, of 6 to -12 years old during the French school holidays and of 3 months to -17 years old during French All Saints and French Easter holidays.
In winter: from sunday to Friday. French All Saints and French Easter: from Monday to Friday. (Childcare at mealtimes is possible for a supplement to be paid on site.)
The children's clubs are free and supervised by certified organizers.
“P’tits loups” stays from 4 to 11/03/23 : As an extra, 2 baby-sitting evenings at the club until 10p.m.
In spring and autumn:
Snowshoeing holiday in the Jura 7 days/6 nights, 2 to 9/01/22, €519/pers.
Panoramic walks on the ridges, forests or natural lakes! Guided snowshoe hikes from Monday to Friday. 2 days and 3 half-days for snowshoeing. Level: 300 to 600m of elevation depending on hike.
Registration on booking 1 month before the stay at latest. Subject to a minimum of 10 participants.
Service to add to step 2 (associated services) of your booking. The stated rates may be subject to error or omission.

• By train: Frasne SNCF station (20 km) then shuttle to Métabief (phone number: +33 (0)8 36 35 35 35 or +33 (0)3 81 49 81 54) or Vallorbe station in Switzerland (7 km) then taxi (Warning: call a French taxi rather than a Swiss taxi, the rates are different)
• By aeroplane: Geneva airport (90 km) then train Geneva/Vallorbe (7 km) and taxi
they run from 5 p.m. on the 1st day to 10 a.m. on the last day.
Short stays and weekends 1 to 3 nights: they run from 5 p.m. on the 1st day to 2 p.m. on the last day.
If you arrive before 5 p.m., we will welcome you but you won't be able to lodge in your accommodation.

The reception is open from 8 am to 2 pm and from 5 pm to 8 pm. You will find a shop with regional products, post card, games board and loan rackets.
Breakfast: 8 a.m. -10 a.m.
Lunch: 12 p.m. -1.30 p.m.
Dinner: 7 p.m. - 8.30 p.m.
Picnic baskets possible on request at reception the day before.
Water and wine included
Let : Takeaway meals and / or possibility of restoration by reservation.
For full- and half-board stays, the end-of-stay housekeeping is included in the rate as well as for short lets (1 to 3 nights.) Housekeeping of the accommodation is at guests’ expense for the duration of the stay.
For rental stays, maintenance of your accommodation is at your expense for the duration of the stay. We offer you a housekeeping service at the end of the stay on the site, but for stays in VTF residences we advise you to choose it at the time of booking. (40€)
Bed linen, towels
Bedding is provided for all stays (sheets, blankets or duvets) along with bathroom linen in the full-board and half-board bases as well as for short rental stays (1 to 3 nights.) However, do not forget your bath towels for swimming-pool bathing and your relaxation time in our saunas and fitness centre!

Cots available on request. You will find baths at reception and high chairs in the restaurant
Your pets are not allowed (except guide dogs), for health and safety reasons.
A deposit of €80 per family is requested on arrival.
Hidden beneath the powder snow, the vast coombs, lakes, slopes, forests and hiking paths are transformed with the coming of winter into Nordic skiing courses, Alpine skiing pistes, snowshoeing circuits, snowboarding courses and natural skating rinks. Here there's no time to hibernate...the Haut-Doubs comes alive, from November to March, to offer one of the vastest Nordic skiing areas of Europe. An invitation to the pleasures of mountain sports of all kinds.

Price includes: full board from dinner on the first day to breakfast on the last day, access to the site facilities, WiFi access, bedding (sheets, duvet or blankets) and bathroom linen (remember to bring your own bath towels for the sauna), adult entertainments and children’s clubs (according to period), beds, baths and highchairs for babies, end-of-stay housekeeping.
Price does not include: membership (valid from 1/11 to 31/10 of following year), VTF cancellation insurance: 3% of amount of stay (€30 minimum), bar tabs and personal expenses, bath towels, daily housekeeping of your accommodation, tourist tax.
